Mogadishu (HOL) – At least two people were injured in a landmine explosion that occurred in Mogadishu’s Kahda district on Thursday.
According to an eyewitness, the landmine had been concealed near a police checkpoint close to the district’s headquarters. Nno casualties were reported among the soldiers who were in proximity to the explosion.
Following the incident, security forces conducted investigations where the explosion occurred; however, no arrests have been made thus far in connection with the attack.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack, adding to the mystery of the incident.
The landmine explosion comes just one day after Dahir Hussein Mohamud, a promising young entrepreneur, was fatally shot by unidentified gunmen inside his business establishment in the Macmacanka neighborhood of the Dharkeenley district.
The motive behind Mr. Mohamud’s killing remains unclear. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for this tragic incident.
